Curitiba, Brazil – Telefonica Brazil has chosen the IP9 MPO Multifiber connector from SENKO to build next-generation FTTX networks that are more flexible and faster to deploy.

This unique solution significantly eases the deployment of wired and wireless access networks to deliver high-speed broadband to houses, offices and mobile users. According to Telefonica, the pre-connectorized network not only provides an end-to-end passive connectivity solution three times (3x) faster than conventional methods but also allows the operator to scale the deployment on a ‘pay as they grow’ basis.

Telefonica select products only from the major fiber optic solution providers authorized to manufacture pre-connectorized cables and sealed closures with SENKO’s IP9 connectors and adapters. Multi-fiber networks are now essential for the exponential growth of FTTH as well as for the mass deployment of 5G in the country.

According to SENKO’s VP of Sales Yohei Sato, “The adoption of the IP9 multi-fiber solution by Telefonica do Brasil, helped to facilitate the exponential growth of projects encompassing multifiber connectors in outdoor applications”.

“By using SENKO IP9 solutions in parts of our FTTH network, ‘mainly between the switchboard and the last mile’, the growth and expansion rate of our services were considerably accelerated”, says Daniel Vagner, Applications and Approvals Engineer at Telefonica do Brazil.

The IP-9 is SENKO’s most compact outdoor rugged connector designed to meet the 100 lb pulling force required in the GR-3120 and 3152 standards. The connector is one size and can accommodate multiple configurations including 1-fiber, 2-fiber and also Multi-fiber technology using MPO slings, helping network architects to design a more efficient fiber optic network.
